Linda Fay Peacock Brockman, 71, died Aug. 12, 2016, at her home in Canton. 

She was born on the Feb. 25, 1945, in Fort Worth to Theodore D. “T.D.” and Edna Dillard Peacock.

Mrs. Brockman grew up in Big Spring and graduated from Big Spring High School. After high school she married and moved to Wichita Falls. After moving to Throckmorton while rearing her children, she earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls. She was an elementary teacher and librarian for Throckmorton ISD, Kermit ISD, Midland ISD and Baccus Elementary School in Granbury. After retiring from teaching, she became a Mary Kay consultant and cared for her cherished customers for more than 10 years.

One of her proudest accomplishments was completing the Rock and Roll Arizona Marathon in 2004, after beating non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in the late 90s. She raised over $3,000 for the American Stroke Association.

She married the love of her life, Larry D. Brockman, in August 1964 in Big Spring. They were happily married for 51 years.

She was a Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Throckmorton Chapter No. 500. She served as a Stephen Minister for Acton United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Canton First United Methodist Church, the Canton Rotary Club, the Wednesday Study Club, the Methodist Christian Women’s Group and Delta Kappa Gamma. 

She received the Mirabeau B. Lamar Award for Excellence in Education from the Granbury Masonic Lodge No. 392. She also received the Rotary Paul Harris Fellow Award, as well as numerous other awards in education.

She was preceded in death by her parents, T.D and Edna Dillard Peacock, and her brother, Jimmy Peacock.

She is survived by husband, Larry Brockman of Canton; daughter, Jennifer Brockman and wife Paula Welch of Fort Worth; son, Geoffrey Brockman and wife Crystal of Longview; brother, Ray Peacock and wife Debbie of Midland; twin sister, Kay Seager and husband Gary of Longview; brother, Larry Peacock and wife Frances of Caddo Mills; brother, Dale Peacock of Big Spring; and a multitude of family, friends and loved ones.

A service celebrating her life will be held at Canton First United Methodist Church, 600 S. Buffalo, Canton, at 1 p.m. Sep. 10.

Honorary pallbearers are Brock Warren, Ian Hughes, Zach Hughes, Jared Hitt, John Sullivan and Bob Hargrove.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Canton Rotary Scholarship Fund at P.O. Box 1354, Canton TX 75103 or the Canton First United Methodist Church Endowment Fund at 600 S. Buffalo St., Canton TX 75103

Services for RaeLynn McKenzie Stewart, 3, of Edgewood were held Aug. 17, 2016, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton.

Miss Stewart died Aug. 11, 2016, in Dallas.

She was born on May 21, 2013, in Rockwall to Tanner and Chelsea Shipp Stewart.

She was a strong courageous warrior. She was an amazing big sister to Delilah. She loved all things glitter and beautiful.

Outside was her favorite place to be, her walks with mom and dad was her favorite, watching the birds and the trees sway in the wind. She was so carefree and wild at heart. Late night dances with Daddy and getting pampered by Mom always made her amazing smile shine through. Her beautiful eyes could tell you everything you ever needed to know about her. She was the light to so many lives and loved beyond words by so many all around the world. Minus the many reasons she had to just want to give up, she never did. She took her life in stride and loved every second of it.

She is preceded in death by her Papa, Richard Stafford and Pepaw, Wayne Pritchett.

She is survived by her mother and father, Chelsea and Tanner Stewart of Edgewood; baby sister, Delilah Stewart; grandparents, Ronni and Ricky Shipp of Canton; grandpa, Robert Stewart; great grandmother, Brenda Pritchett of Kemp; grammy, Dawn Stewart; great grandma, Charlene Stafford; aunts, Amy, Jessica, Megan and Landi; uncles, Bradley, Nick, Zach, David, Allen, Dusty; and great uncles, Earl and Darren Stafford.

Roy Neal “Robbie” Robinson, 77, Fruitvale, died Aug. 6, 2016, at his home.

He was born July 24, 1939, in Wylie. He served in the U.S. Army, was a truck driver and enjoyed drag races.

He was preceded in death by his father, Guy Robinson; mother, Virginia Vaughn; and sister, Dawn Cook.

Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Robinson of Fruitvale; son, Chad Robinson of Rowlett; son, Roby Robinson and his wife Traci Robinson of Fruitvale; four siblings; five grandchildren, Jay Rowan, Dustin Stone, Audrey Robinson, Hunter Robinson and Ryland Robinson; and two great-grandchildren.

If desired, memorials can be made to the Johnny Lewellen Scholarship Fund, Fruitvale High School.

Mr. Sanford died Aug.18, 2016.

Services for Herbert “Gray” Graham Delk III were held Aug. 20, 2016, at Four Mile Lutheran Church in Mabank with Pastor Joan Iker officiating.  Interment was at Four Mile Lutheran Cemetery in Mabank.

Mr. Delk died Aug.16, 2016, at his home in Canton.

He was born April 21, 1945, in Columbia, S.C., to Herbert Graham Delk Jr. and Dorothy Blanch Jones Delk.

He grew up in South Carolina before moving to Dallas at the age of 9. He graduated from South Oak Cliff High School before attending Arlington State College.

He served two tours in Vietnam with the Air Force from 1965 to 1969.

He always had a love for architecture; he won a science fair in high school for designing a church, which was later built in Dallas. He started his own business, Delk Designs, and designed thousands of homes in the Dallas area.

He enjoyed fishing, playing golf and mowing his yard in his spare time.

He was a member of Four Mile Lutheran Church and held his pilot license flying for private parties. He had a fantastic sense of humor and enjoyed life to the fullest.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannette Delk of Canton; sons, Herbert Graham Delk IV of Canton, Daniel Jefferson Delk of Canton and Steven Anthony Groves of Dallas; grandson, Harley Jefferson Delk of Canton; sister, Ondria Eaton and Bill Wesson of Alabama; sister, Fredericka Delk Horne of Atlanta, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Dorothy Delk; wife, Sharyn Marie Tobias Delk and grandson, Sawyer Jefferson Delk.

Services for Jerry Walton Pugh, 72 of Canton, were held Aug. 24, 2016, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Bro. Jack Thompson and Bro. Danny Cope officiating.

Mr. Pugh died Aug. 21, 2016, in Athens.

He was born on Nov.18, 1943. in Dallas to Fred and Nettie Walton Pugh.

He grew up in the Pleasant Grove community of Dallas and attended W.W. Samuel High School. He drove a truck for Sears for 26 years before going to work at TXI and retiring in 2008.

Jerry married Judy Usrey on March 23, 1961. They moved to Canton in 1972 where they raised their children.

He loved deer hunting, horses, watching PBR and playing with his grandchildren. He was a Christian by faith serving as a deacon for over 30 years and teaching Sunday School spreading his love and knowledge for the Lord. He was also very active in the Lonestar High School Rodeo where he was a big influence on young adults.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Pugh of Canton; daughter, Alice and Dwayne Clements of Canton; daughter, Denise and Marty Daugherty of Canton; daughter, JeriAnn and Benny Kimbrell of  Canton; grandson, Jerry Clements and Kaycee Bielss; granddaughter, Jamie Clements and Corey Green; grandson, Cody Daugherty; grandson, Kolemon Weatherford; granddaughter, Kinsley Saunders;  great grandson, Caiden Green; along with Thomas and Debbie James, Stormi and Josh Steed,  Colton James and a host of other family and friends..

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Nettie Pugh; son, Phillip Lynn Pugh: and brother, Richard Pugh.

Pallbearers were Lyle Sikes, Johney Childers, Larry Thompson, Justin Waisath, Mack Brewer, and Justin Priest. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Clements, Cody Daugherty, Kolemon Weatherford.

Interment will be at Little Hope Cemetery in Wood County.

Funeral services for Leona Ann Ledbetter, 72, Canton, were held Aug. 25, 2016, at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.  Burial followed at Blackjack Cemetery.

Services were under the direction of the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Family of Athens.

Mrs. Ledbetter went to be with her Lord and Savior Aug. 22, 2016.

She was born on Sept. 12, 1943, in Croswell, Mich., the daughter of William Westley and Elma Phillips Westley.

She was an avid reader, a good cook and enjoyed her animals and the farm life. She loved to go have lunch with her friends as often as she could. She loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Dorothy Bergeron; siblings, William and Alfred Westley, Audrey Agar, Minnie Granger, Mary Harper, Anna Deaton, Theresa Westley and Geraldine Westley.

She is survived by her children, Gerald Flynn and his wife Paula of Wichita Falls, Mark Flynn and his wife Diane of Muskogee, Okla., Nancy Starr and her husband Robin of Gilmer, Sandra Hayes and her husband Tim of Canton, Linda Faber and her husband Joe of Arlington and Gary Flynn and his wife Julie of Frisco; siblings, Sally Szulborski and her husband Bob of Lake Park, Mich., Sue Babcock of Sandusky, Mich., Robert Westley and his wife Susan of Croswell, Mich., Gerold Westley and his wife Elaine of Croswell, Mich. and Laura Maner and her husband Richard of Sandusky, Mich.; son-in-law, Les Bergeron of Fort Worth; 22 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

Visitation service for Lynn Starr Musser Foster, 60, of Wills Point, will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point. 

Mrs. Foster died Aug. 20, 2016, at her residence in Wills Point.

She was born Jan. 12, 1956, in Alamogordo, N.M., the daughter of Emory Starr and Lila Gossett Starr.

She lived most of her life in Wills Point and in 1974 she graduated from Wills Point High School. 

Lynn married John Musser and they were together for 26 years.  She later married Steve Foster on May 30, 2003, in Wills Point. 

She was employed by the First Baptist Learning Center for 29 years. 

She took care of many babies in the community, several included second generations.  She gave parents peace and comfort as they walked out the door to go to their jobs, as they knew without a doubt that their most precious little one would be cared for, loved and nurtured. 

She was an excellent cook and enjoyed working in her garden.  She was a member of Fin and Feather and the Wills Point Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Emory and Lila Starr: son, John Marcus Musser; and an uncle, Milton Gossett.

Funeral services for Windle Nadine Hill, 75, of Wills Point, were held Aug. 23, 2016, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with the Rev. Charles Scarborough officiating. 

Interment followed at Woodside Cemetery in Grand Saline.

Mrs. Hill died Aug. 19, 2016, at her residence in Wills Point.

She was born Feb. 24, 1941, in Paris, the daughter of J. W. McFatridge and Vivian G. Williams McFatridge. She was raised in Paris where she attended public school.  On Jan. 24, 1978, she married Johnny Edward Hill in Mesquite. 

She was employed by First National Bank in Dallas as an assistant bank manager. 

After retiring from the bank, she worked at First Monday Trades Day.  She lived in Mesquite prior to moving to Wills Point 17 years ago. 

She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Wills Point.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.W. and Vivian McFatridge; husband, Johnny Hill on July 9, 2015; two brothers and a sister.

She is survived by son, Richard Matlock and his wife, Darlene, of Grand Saline; two daughters, Sheila Nadine Forrester and her husband, Carl, of Lakeland, Fla., and Cynthia Darlene Matlock of Carthage; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Carl Forrester, Cary Wayne Lindsey, Stephen Hill, Chris Muniz, Dewayne McFatridge and Ricky Gray.

Funeral services for Betty Maurine Adams, 92, of Mineola, were held Sept. 7, 2016, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point.  Burial followed at White Rose Cemetery.

Mrs. Adams died in Tyler on Sept. 4, 2016.

She was born June 30, 1924, in Dallas.  She married Rupert Adams on Jan. 30, 1941, and they made their home in Dallas for a short while before moving to Irving to raise their five children. 

She was employed with Sears and Roebuck Company and then the Texas Baptist Home. She was also employed with the Quinlan Independent School District until she retired. 

She was a member of Christ Memorial Baptist Church in Quinlan.

She loved to cook and spend time with all her grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rupert Adams; an infant child; daughter, Patricia Gail Bowdin; grandson, Michael Bowdin; and a son-in-law, Van L. Zandt.

She is survived by her sons, James Adams of Terrell and Kenneth Adams and his wife Lorie of Quinlan; daughters, Jean Herrington and her husband Larry of Mineola and Sharon Zandt of Waxahachie; grandchildren, Tammy Stanford, Kim Hudgins, Phillip and Todd Herrington, Susan Gibson, Larry Adams, Lisa Adams, Ryan Adams, Erick and Derek Zandt, Matthew Bowdin and Heather Logan; sister, Jerry Tollett and her husband Bill of Irving; 37 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service for Dorothy Mae Chance, 90, of Rowlett, was held Sept. 7, 2016, at the Eubank Funeral Home in Canton. 

A graveside service was held at Haven of Memories Memorial Park. 

Mrs. Chance passed away Sept. 3, 2016, in Rowlett.  She was born Dec. 24, 1925, in Dallas to Roy and Mary Lavenia Monnersmith Elkins. 

She was a Baptist by faith. 

She grew up in Dallas and lived there most of her life.  She and her husband of 50 years, Walter “Buddy” Chance, lived in the Phalba Community for 30 years before returning to the Dallas area in 1997. 

She enjoyed cleaning her home and took pride in a clean and tidy house. She enjoyed reading and going outside to watch birds and wildlife. She also enjoyed helping her daughter with her plants.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter “Buddy” Chance; grandson, Richard Adams; two sisters, Evelyn Marie Humphrey and Lillian Shelton; brother, William Elkins; and her uncle, Frank Monnersmith. 

She is survived by her daughter and her husband, Dale and Thomas Row of Rowlett; granddaughter, Kim Langley of Mesquite; two great-grandchildren: Kevin Langley and Lyndsi Langley-Martin; and her husband, Wade; four great-great-grandchildren, Colby Clouse, Channing Martin, Charlee Martin and Karsyn Martin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Gregory Wayne Gilliland, 46, Van, were held Sept. 6, 2016, at Hilliard Funeral Home with Ronnie Brey officiating.

Burial was in Lindale City Cemetery.

Mr. Gilliland was born March 28, 1970, in Kilgore and passed away Sept. 1, 2016. 

He had been a resident of Van since 2004, formerly living in Chandler. He worked as a land surveyor and was a huge Dallas Cowboy fan.  He and Beth had been together for 27 years.

He was survived by his wife, Beth Gilliland of Van; four children, Cameron Gilliland, Joseph Gilliland, Carolyn Gilliland and Seth Gilliland, all of Van; mother, Carolyn White of Tyler; and brother, Shannon Bearden and his wife, Crystal, of Tyler; and nephew and nieces, Jarrod, Tori, Ashlyn and Zoey.

Pallbearers were Cameron Gilliland, Joseph Gilliland, Seth Gilliland, Shannon Bearden, Jessie Williams, Aaron Smith and Brian Smith.

Mr. Wise died on Aug. 30, 2016, in Canton.

He was born on Dec. 20, 1926, in Port Lavaca, to Collas Lee and Wille Collins Wise.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Billie Jo Wise; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Wise; and brother, Jack Eason Wise.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Wise; son, Jim and Sherry Wise; stepson, Brad and Mirna Bowman; grandson, Curtis Lee Wise; grandson, James Edward Wise; step granddaughter, Sierra Speegle; step granddaughter, Elise Bowman and brother, Billy Andrew Wise.

John W. "Jack" Tyler Jr. of Trinidad died peacefully surrounded by his family on Sept. 1, 2016, at Baylor Scott and White Hospital from complications of cancer. 

Mr. Tyler was born Oct. 19, 1940, in St. Cloud, Minn. 

He attended St. Thomas College, then moved to Texas and attended Arlington State College where he met Judith Marie Hicks, his soul mate. She became his wife of 53 years.

He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1963 and served with honor in Vietnam. He returned home in 1966 to the birth of his first daughter, Wendy Knight Tyler, and daughter, Elizabeth Tyler, three years later.

He began his post-corps career at Kmart, but found his true passion working in financial services/wealth Mmanagement. He retired from American National Bank in Kaufman where he participated in Lions Club and several other non-profit organizations. 

He was an avid Notre Dame fan and never ceased to learn new things. He often told his daughters “when you stop learning you die.”

He is survived by his wife, Judith; his daughters, Elizabeth and Wendy; Wendy’s husband Bret Schlueter; two sisters, Susan Tyler of Galveston and Jill Tyler Gresham of Centerville; and brother, Patrick Tyler of Washington, D.C. 

A memorial gathering will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 17 at Cedar Creek Country Club, 18392 Country Club Dr., Kemp 75143.
